We are very excited to announce that afternoon tea is back at Retreat East, with a brand new menu! Just in time for summer, our pastry chef has completely revamped our afternoon tea menu including delicious savouries, tasty sweet treats and of course a great range of drinks.
Sumptuous Savouries
Elevate your midday indulgence with a scrumptious array of sandwiches and savoury delights. Dive into our Dingey Dell pork sausage roll, perfectly complemented by apricot purée and sage, alongside our irresistible homemade cheddar straws. Not forgetting our Choux bun which is brimming with braised beef, peppercorn custard, and English mustard. Of course it wouldn’t be a Retreat East afternoon tea without a little twist, such as our gluten-free salmon and horseradish crème fraîche on sourdough, and a refreshing cucumber and spinach finger sandwich.
Delectable sweet treats
Can it truly be afternoon tea without freshly baked scones? Of course not! We've brought back plain and fruit scones, served with lashings of clotted cream and strawberry jam. Alongside these classics, indulge in a delightful variety of sweet treats, expertly crafted by our pastry chef. Enjoy a homemade doughnut filled with crème patisserie and Retreat East garden berries, and our honey opera cake (using our own honey!)—both dairy-free and gluten-free. For our vegan guests, we offer a Retreat East Gin & strawberry Pâte De Fruits. Rounding off our sweet offerings is a French classic with a Retreat East twist: fig leaf bavarois (with figs from our own tree!)

We have a great range of teas available on our menu as well as a range of coffees on offer with alternative milks for vegans and dairy free guests.
